Director Strategic Accounts

Department: Trafalgar
Location: Cypress, CA

Position Summary

This role will focus on the identification, development and management of strategic accounts within the travel industry and manage the relationship to develop sales opportunities and grow sales.  The primary goal of this position is to work with key account contacts and the Trafalgar National Sales Team to ensure we are increasing sales year over year.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Create annual sales and marketing strategy and targets with Vice President of Sales for each account.
  • Negotiate yearly account goals and objectives based on contractual obligation and account performance for future year and monitor sales figures regularly by sending monthly reporting
  • Manage all aspects of assigned key, home based and or key accounts, including growing and developing sales, developing and managing yearly marketing plans and presenting yearly and quarterly budgets for each account.
  • Responsible for fair, timely and rational problem resolution of escalated reservation and post-travel service issues involving a member agency of a preferred account.
  • Manage budgets and marketing funds, to include incentives and promotional offers, for the assigned accounts. 
  • Provide consistent monthly updates to key contacts as well as reporting and consultative selling techniques to better engage their accounts. Including pace to goal and reward program progress.
  • Consult with the sales team on business plan tactics to ensure that there are activities directed to or inclusive of agencies, advisors and ICs in each territory and provide council to develop a strategy within their territory to better engage and growth their business.
  • Develop new business and marketing opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Work with sales team to increase overall passengers for assigned accounts. 
  • Responsible for monitoring account data and thinking of new ways to utilize and manage how we communicate to our partners.  Take the lead in development of new functionality, along with the Salesforce team and TTC, as it pertains to identifying, developing and growing the sales and the improved functionality and utilization of Salesforce.
  • Assist in the development of new resources for key accounts to grow overall sales.  Consistently ensure we are engaging new advisers to the account.
  • Create a formidable presence in the marketplace by attending account events and conferences, making presentations, sitting on expert panels and representing Trafalgar, Brendan and Costsaver. 
  • Evaluate industry technology trends and tools, to incorporate distinctive interaction opportunities with accounts.
  • Support Vice President of Sales by monitoring, expanding and driving key account sales through effective follow up on opportunities and challenges.
  • Act as a liaison between accounts, sales, marketing and reservations departments. Communicate and educate the account’s policies, strategies, incentives, promotions to our internal teams to ensure that we provide effective service and sales support specific to each account.  Ensure communication is consistent to all stakeholders: DSMs, marketing, inside sales support and call center staff.
  • Experience with Social Media outlets and comfort in adopting new technology platforms is required. 

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience in travel sales, experience in large, multi-branch account management, ability to work with sales and marketing management teams, highly organized and effective communicator with staff and managers, effective negotiator of budgets, sales and marketing plans with accounts, results-oriented self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to meet and surpass sales goals; highly proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM - Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with all levels of staff; strong presentation skills.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with or without reasonable accommodation required. Ability to look at a computer monitor for long periods of time with reasonable accommodation required.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation required.
  • Attendance at evening functions frequently required; interstate and international travel frequently required for this position.
